Ford Escape Premium Detailing Before Sale, Cowichan Bay Area

A family SUV, years of daily use, kid seats in the back, and a sale coming up. The owner booked Premium Detailing. Two of us worked on this Ford Escape for six hours straight, inside and out.

This is an example of Premium Detailing before sale in the Cowichan Bay area. Premium is the most we do. Whether it is a Porsche, a BMW or a Ford Escape, the standard is the same: we follow our own procedure and we work through every detail.

What the Escape looked like

Kid seats had been in the back for years. Dried spills on the leather and on the carpet, crumbs in every seam, full seat pockets and door pockets. The cargo area was grey with dust. The outside had gone a long time without a wash, and dirt sat in every door opening and shut line.

Inside

• Carpets. A wet wipe-down with cleaning chemistry, then the steam generator, then a fresh finish. Vacuumed, then four passes with the Tornador and a brush through every corner, along the seat rails and under the seats.
• Floor mats. Out of the car, washed with chemistry and steam, brushed by hand.
• Under the seats. Front and rear, cleaned thoroughly.
• Seat pockets and door pockets. Emptied, vacuumed and wiped down.
• Seats. Leather cleaned by hand. Spilled drinks lifted from the surface and the seams.
• Centre console. We moved the gear selector to clean around it. Front and rear cupholders, armrest, glovebox, USB ports and every button.
• Doors. Door pockets, handles and window switches.
• Seat belts. The belts and the buckle sockets where they plug in.
• Headliner. Wiped by hand, damp.
• Trunk. Fully vacuumed and cleaned.
• Glass. Inside and out.

Outside

Hand wash, with every door opening, jamb and shut line washed clean.

What did not come out

Some stains in the carpet were old oil. Oil does not come out of carpet fibre. We did everything possible: wet chemistry, steam, four Tornador passes and a brush. The stains faded, and one dark spot on the front carpet stayed. Everything around it came back fresh.

Premium means maximum

We do not wipe a surface once and move on. Some places get five passes with chemistry and steam. The result is a car that looks as fresh as it can, ready for its next owner.
